Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often, on how the subscription works, what it covers and how we charge.

We help you resolve commercial disputes without going to court. That covers assessing your position and the strength of your case, negotiating directly with the other party on your behalf, and drafting legally binding settlement agreements. And because the best dispute is the one that never lands, our subscription plans work proactively too: keeping your contracts and terms in good order, mitigating risk, and putting you in a stronger position if a disagreement does arise.

Dispute resolution support is included in our subscription plans, or you can instruct us on a fixed fee for a one-off matter. The fee depends on the complexity of the dispute and is always quoted before we start, so you won't get an hourly-rate surprise from us.

No. We focus on resolving disputes through engagement with the other party and settlement, which is where the overwhelming majority of commercial disputes are best resolved: faster, at lower cost, and with business relationships intact. If your matter genuinely requires court proceedings, we'll help you understand your options, and make sure you go in with your position properly documented.

Straightforward matters, such as a well-documented unpaid invoice, can often be resolved in a few weeks. Disputes involving multiple parties or more complex facts typically take longer, and we'll give you a realistic timeframe once we've assessed your position. Acting early is the single biggest factor in resolving a dispute quickly.

Yes. A properly drafted settlement agreement is a binding contract, and it's how most commercial disputes formally end. We draft yours with clear terms covering payment, confidentiality and what happens if either side doesn't comply, so the dispute stays resolved.

Usually the opposite. A measured, well-drafted letter setting out your position often unlocks a resolution precisely because the other side sees you're taking it seriously. We match the tone to your goal, whether that's recovering money from a customer you'll never work with again or repairing a relationship with a supplier you rely on.
